<CUBE I> is the first work of the regular polyhedron light sculptures using LED lights developed by LOVOT LAB. Regular polyhedrons are polyhedrons consisting of regular polygons with all sides united, and only five exist in Euclidean space. In his book Timaeus, he explained that each ancient elements is related to each regular polyhedron and cube is interrelated to soil, one of ancient elements. We pursue the process of creating our work like Plato's logical method to understand the world and began unfolding our point of view through this work.
<CUBE I>은 직접 개발한 직관형 LED 라이트를 이용한 정다면체 시리즈 중 첫번째 작업이다. 그리스의 철학자이며 사상가인 플라톤의 다면체라고 불리는 정다면체는 모든 면이 합동인 정다각형으로 이루어진 다면체로서 유클리드 공간에서 오직 다섯가지만 존재한다. 그의 저작 티마이오스(Timaeus)에서 각각의 정다면체와 고대 원소 체계인 사대원소를 연결지어 정육면체를 흙에 비유하고 있다. 이 작품을 통해 논리적인 방식으로 세상을 이해하려는 플라톤과 같이 디지털 기술을 바탕으로한 우리의 세계관을 펼치기 시작하였다.
